Qualifications:
Is a born-again believer, through faith in JESUS, who “is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through” Him. (John 14:6)
Has faith in the Holy Trinity that GOD the Father, GOD the Son, and GOD the Holy Spirit are in perfect unity. (John 1:1-4, 14:15-26; 1 John 5:7)
Believes that the Bible was written by men divinely inspired by the HOLY SPIRIT, and the Lord JESUS CHRIST and His Holy Word, is the sole authority for faith and practice. (2 Timothy 3:16-17; Titus 1:9)
Be an upright person in his relationships with his family, the church, and the community, who is blameless, well behaved, nonviolent, sober-minded, not greedy or covetous, peaceable and hospitable. (1 Timothy 3:2-3; Titus 1:6-9)
Must be the husband of one wife, who rules his own house well. (1 Timothy 3:2-5; Titus 1:6)
In his daily life demonstrates a love for God and others (James 1:19-25)
Is not a novice, but diligent to present himself “approved to GOD, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. (1 Timothy 3:6; 2 Timothy 2:14-16; Titus 1:9)
Uses his ministry gifts, talents, knowledge, and wisdom to lead, teach, and evangelize the church staff, congregation, and nonbelievers. (Romans 10:17; 1 Corinthians 12:4-11; Ephesians 5:8-11; James 3:17-18; 2 Timothy 3:16)
Agrees with theBaptist Faith and Message 2000.
Responsibilities:
Maintains a personal spiritual relationship with the LORD through daily Bible study, and prayer.
Preaches and teaches GOD’s Holy Word as inspired by the HOLY SPIRIT at regular scheduled church services.
Provides direct supervision and support for youth and music ministry, and church staff.
Oversees and engages pastoral obligations to visit congregation members and church attendees at home or in healthcare facilities.
Leads the church in Holy Communion, baptismal services, marriage ceremonies, and funerals.
Offers guidance and support to the church’s ministries, outreach, and events.
Provides spiritual scripture guided counsel.
Leads his household in spiritual guidance, growth, and leisure.
Serves as moderator for business meetings.
Serves as an ex-officio member of committees.
Willing to serve a minimum of 20 hours per week, in addition to regularly scheduled church services
